National Pet Week

Every year in May a very special week happens that we, as pet owners, celebrate.  This year, May 5-11 designated National Pet Week in the United States.  It’s an exciting time for us at Bergan and we try to make the most of it. We have a few ideas about how you can celebrate pets this week each year too…

Support your local no-kill shelters

If you can donate money or volunteer your time, there’s no time like now to make it happen!  Also remember that supplies like pet food, collars and leashes, and cleaning supplies are always needed and much appreciated.

Adopt a new pet from one of those shelters

Maybe you’ve been thinking about it, or maybe you haven’t but you’re in a position to be able to add a new furry member to your family.  Either way, you’ve got a great reason to go for it.

This year’s theme for National Pet Week is “Love Your Pet, See Your Vet.”

So if your pet is due for a check-up, it’s a good time to make an appointment with the doc.

Do something special for your pet

Maybe there’s a place your dog loves to visit or maybe there’s a toy you know your cat would love.  We don’t need an excuse to treat them, but we’ve got one this week anyway!
